Fall is hands down my favorite season! Fall in North Carolina is not too hot and it’s not too cold. It’s perfect! I’m also a sucker for fall fashion. I’m always eager to read about what the new fall trends and colors will be with each coming year and it’s so fun deciding how I will incorporate some of them into my fall looks. In this blog, I’m going to let you in on a few of the fall trends that I plan on incorporating into my wardrobe this season and also let you know how I plan on styling them. I linked all the items (or similar items) for you guys below.
ANIMAL PRINT In case you were worried, please rest assured that animal print is going nowhere! I honestly think that animal print will never truly go out of style but it is definitely popping right now and has been for quite some time. I found the cutest high waist leopard midi skirt on Amazon the other day. I plan on wearing this with sneakers and maybe a button up shirt or even a sweater.
LEATHER This is another one that I think will never go out of style. What’s different this season is that head to toe leather is in. I’m talking all leather everything: leather hats, shirts, jackets, vests, pants, shorts, skirts, and shoes. I recently went a little leather crazy and got a few pair of faux leather pants. I’m super excited to incorporate these into my work looks. If you work in corporate america like me, dressing for work doesn’t have to be boring. I love the color of these faux leather paper bag pants from Target . I’ll probably wear these with a chunky sweater and some cute heels. This weekend I somehow found myself at the mall (don’t you hate it when that happens) and came across these faux leather pleated pants from Urban Outfitters. Green is my favorite color so I had to have these! I’ll probably wear these with an animal print shoe and either a button up or a sweater. While at Urban Outfitters I also copped these Faux Leather Straight Leg Pants I love anything with a tuxedo stripe. It just looks so classy. I’ll definitely pair these with a black pump and probably a blazer.
BELTED BLAZER I’m super excited about this trend because I love blazers and already have tons of blazers in my wardrobe. I think adding the element of a belt really gives blazers a different look and it can most likely be pulled together using pieces you already own. You can definitely have fun with this one! I stopped into Kohls this past weekend looking for a skirt and left with this amazing belted blazer by Nine West instead. I tried it on while still on the sales floor and both myself and the sales associate gasped. Dramatic yes I know but, it looked just that good ya’ll! The sales associate told me I had to have it and I agreed! Thank you girl for the coupons! I plan on wearing this with black slacks or a pencil skirt for work or with jeans and sneakers for a more casual look. It’s on sale right now for $49.99 so go get it now! It also comes in black and navy.
BOOTS I haven’t purchased any boots since last year but the boots that I did purchase last year are still trending this year. Since my boots were purchased last year I wasn’t able to find all of the exact boots that I have but I found some pretty amazing boots that are very similar. First up are these amazing snake print boots from Steve Madden . They have quickly become one of my favorite pair of boots. I get compliments every time I wear them. The possibilities are endless with these stylish and very comfortable boots. Next up is the ever so faithful combat boot. I’m still on the hunt for a black pair after I wore my old ones to the ground but my brown ones from Target are still going strong. I found this dupe at DSW for you guys. I wear these with anything from jeans to skirts to shorts. And last but not least are white boots. I found a cute pair of white boots from Target last year. I found a similar pair at DSW that I linked here for you. My boots from Target do not have the buckle but I love that detail in these boots. I usually don’t like kitten heel anything but I loved them in this white boot because it gave it more of a retro feel. I wore these last year with a faux leather mini skirt, a black and white cami, and a faux leather beret. See below for a picture of me wearing this fit from Homecoming last year.
MODERN ROMANCE Yes it’s a thing and it’s trending this fall. Think ruffles, lace, and bows but with a modern twist. I fell in love with this dress from Target after seeing it on a lady. I complimented her on the dress and she graciously informed me that she got it from Target. I went and got it that same day. I can’t wait to rock this dress. I’m planning on wearing it with these amazing lilac pumps that I have from Steve Madden.
There are tons of other fall looks that are hot this season but I definitely wanted to share some of my favorites with you guys. I’ll be sure to show you just how I end up wearing some of these items this fall. Whether you get some items from this list or wear your own fall looks, have fun with it and enjoy this beautiful season.
